UP polls: Rahul Gandhi to kick off Congress campaign from Lucknow on July 29
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will launch his party’s election campaign for the upcoming UP Assembly polls from Lucknow on July 29 when he will inaugurate a massive meeting of party workers.

Prior to the July 29 event, the Congress will organise a bus yatra of senior state leaders across UP districts.
The first phase of the bus yatra has been named ’27 saal UP behal’ and is aimed at conveying the message to the electorate that the state has suffered immensely after the Congress was ousted from power in 1989. It will be flagged off by party president Sonia president from AICC headquarters on July 23.
The first phase yatra crossing 11 districts will continue for three days and is all set to be attended by prominent leaders like CM candidate Sheila Dikshit, AICC general secretary and UP in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad, PCC president Raj Babbar, Sanjay Singh, Pramod Tiwari, Jitin Prasada, Pradeep Mathur, RPN Singh etc.
The party will launch its formal election campaign from Lucknow on July 29 in the presence of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
According to some media reports, the party is also considering the possibility of Priyanka Gandhi attending this event although nothing has been finalised as yet.
