Uttar Pradesh BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya was admitted to the ICU of RML Hospital in New Delhi today, ANI reported.

According to reports, Maurya has problems related to blood pressure and will be under observation today.

“The BJP leader has problems related to blood pressure and will remain under observation today. He will be discharged tomorrow,” hospital officials told ANI.

“He was suffering from cough, cold and mild fever for last seven days and overworked due to his political commitments,” said Dr. A.K. Gadpayle (Additional DG & Medical superintendent) in Maurya’s medical bulletin.

“At present he is fully conscious and better,” said bulletin.

Maurya was viewed as one of the frontrunners for the post of UP Chief Minister, although he himself ruled out the possibilities earlier today.

"My responsibility is to finalise the name of the UP CM. How can anyone pick his own name?" Maurya said earlier today.

"With all your good wishes and love, I am fine, Maurya tweeted.
