From promising an earthquake in Parliament and holding several rallies and press conferences over demonetisation drive, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi managed to remain at the centre of every action in the last 50 days.

But it now seems, the Congress leader is suffering from tiredness due to marathon public meetings. According to reports, the Gandhi scion is reportedly on a break outside the country for few days to ring in the New Year.

He had reportedly left for London on December 28. It is believed that Rahul, a SPG protectee, took Jet Airways flight (9W122) to reach the most populous city of England. His trip may last a week at least.

Another record shows that there was one more booking on December 29 in an Air India flight (AI-111).

Meanwhile, the Congress has denied that Rahul was abroad, though leaders did concede that he may travel after New Year.

Rahul’s recent foreign trip is back in the limelight because of his last year’s two-month long surprise sabbatical during which his status was unknown to almost everybody. At that time, he had invited severe criticism from political rivals for being insensitive towards her profession.

On December 28 last year, Rahul had informed that he was travelling abroad for New Year celebrations. "I will be travelling to Europe for a few days. A very Happy New Year to everyone," he had tweeted.

In last one month, Rahul left no stones unturned to put the government in the dock over the hardship caused to public due to demonetisation. The Congress had even disrupted the proceedings of the Winter Session of the Parliament leading to a complete washout.

On the other hand, the Twitterati poked fun at Rahul after the news broke out. Here are some tweets that we compiled for our readers:
