New Delhi: RJD supremo Lalu Yadav today held Union Human Resource Minister Smriti Irani responsible for the cancellation of OBC quota for the post of Associate Professors and Professors in central universities.
In a series of tweets, Lalu Yadav today said that Smriti Irani has cancelled the OBC quota for Associate Professors and Professors at the behest of RSS.
Terming BJP as an offspring of the Brahminical RSS, Lalu Yadav said that he will not allow the anti-dalit and anti-OBC party to snatch the rights of these communities.
“India’s OBC community that accounts for 60% of the population will not tolerate this injustice by RSS andBJP. Where is the chest-thumping OBC PM?” Lalu asked.
Lalu further said that the RSS and the BJP want to revoke reservations by adopting mischievous methods.
“It’s a tragedy that this anti-social justice act is being done under the regime of an OBC Prime Minister who claims to be the son of a backward mother,” Lalu added.
According to reports available, in a letter to the registrar of all Central Universities, Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has informed them that 27 percent OBC reservation in teaching positions will be applicable at the level of Assistant Professor only.
“In teaching positions, reservation for SC is 15% and for ST is 7.5% at all three levels i.e. Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. However, 27% OBC reservation in teaching positions is applicable at the level of Assistant Professor only,” the communiqué said.
