Minutes after the resignation of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to twitter to congratulated the Janata Dal(United) chief for "joining the fight against corruption." Immediately after Kumar submitted his resignation to Bihar Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, Modi tweeted: "Congratulations to Nitish Kumar ji for joining the fight against corruption. 125 crore people are welcoming and supporting the honesty."
"It is the need of the hour to rise above political differences to unite and fight against corruption for the bright future of the country and Bihar," Modi said.
Kumar today resigned as chief minister, citing differences with ally RJD over corruption charges against Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, son of Lalu Prasad.
