'Mann Ki Baat': Terrorism is a threat to humanity, says PM Narendra Modi

In poll-bound Gujarat, top BJP leaders simultaneously organised a special ‘Mann Ki Baat, Chai Ke Saath’ across all 50,128 polling booths to counter the Congress’ meme tweet mocking the PM’s chaiwala past.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that terrorism has threatened and challenged humanity across the globe and is bent upon destroying the humanitarian forces.

Sharing his thoughts with the people of the country and abroad through his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on All India Radio, PM Modi said noted that "not only India but all humanitarian forces will have to unite to defeat the menace of terrorism".

For over four decades, the PM said, India has been raising the issue of terror.

"Initially the world did not take us seriously but now the world is realising the destructive aspects of terrorism. India is the land of Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavira, Guru Nanak, Mahatma Gandhi. We believe in non-violence," PM Narendra Modi said.

He also remembered Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on the Constitution Day.

"The Constitution of India, which countrymen feel so very proud of, bears an indelible stamp of Babasaheb's able leadership," he said.

"Babasaheb ensured the welfare of every section of society and his contribution in making the country prosperous and strong can never be forgotten," he added.

Prime Minister also congratulated those belonging to the Navy and applauded their efforts in National building and humanitarian ventures.

Meanwhile, in poll-bound Gujarat, top BJP leaders including party president Amit Shah, Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Smriti Irani and others simultaneously organised a special ‘Mann Ki Baat, Chai Ke Saath’ across all 50,128 polling booths to counter the Congress’ meme tweet mocking the PM’s chaiwala past.
