Bhopal: How does it sound having 700% pension hike post retirement, well, the Madhya Pradesh government has increased former chief ministers' pension by almost seven times from Rs 26,000 to Rs 1.70 lakh per month, according to News18 report.
This pension of Rs 1.7 lakh will not be given if a former chief minister of MP occupies a position in the Union or the State Cabinet.
"This is the decision for every chief minister whether he is Digvijaya Singh, Uma Bharti, Kailash Joshi, Sunderlal Patwa, me or even incumbent CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This is not for one party's chief minister," said MP Home Minister Babulal Gaur.
