New Delhi: HRD minister Smriti Irani today took a swipe at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for his party’s poll defeat in Assam.
During a bitter exchange of words with Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi on twitter today, Irani said,” losing Assam is Rahulj’s forte ".
It all began after Chaturvedi, who has recently raised her voice against online abuse faced by woman, responded to a tweet by a BJP supporter Shefali Vaidya which targeted her.
Vaidya wrote, “When @priyankac19 is trolled, it is an attack on ‘dignity of women’but poisonous slander against @smritiirani is acceptable.”
Responding to Vaidya's tweet, Chaturvedi said, even a perceived threat to Smriti Irani gets her Z category status but even after she getting rape threat she is struggling to get the matter investigated.
Irani quickly interjected, saying she does not have Z category security.
Chaturvedi said that she was unaware of the internal workings of the Union Home Ministry and had read about Z security given to Irani in newspapers.
She further enquired whether HRD minister does not have any security at all triggering an angry response from Irani who said, "Are you planning anything."
Chaturvedi, unwilling to hold back, further retorted,"“Not worth my time , so don’t worry on that front @smritiirani , you must concentrate on creating another campus ruckus.”
In response, Irani reminded Congress of Assam poll defeat saying losing is Rahul's forte.
