Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election rally in Goa today. This will be his first rally in the state where polling will be held in a single phase on February 4.

Union Ministers Manohar Parrikar, Nitin Gadkari, Shripad Naik and CM Laxmikant Parsekar, Deputy CM Francis D’Souza and Goa BJP chief Vinay Tendulkar will share the dais with PM.

All arrangements have be done at the Sports Authority if Goa Ground where the Prime Minister will arrive at around 3:30 pm.

South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar informed that the Prime Minister is expected to deliver an important message to the Goans during his today’s speech.

The party has announced candidates on 36 seats this time. It has decided to support independent candidates in four constituencies which are largely Catholic dominated.

The ruling party will release its manifesto tomorrow (January 29), Vinay Tendulkar said.

A committee, headed by senior party leader and Deputy CM was formed to draft the manifesto. The work on it has been going on since the last one month. The panel has held several meetings, attended by leaders, including Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and the Chief Minister.

According to Tendulkar, almost 80 per cent of the promises made in 2012 have been fulfilled by the party. "Rest 20 per cent, which are yet to be achieved due to various reasons, would be included in the new manifesto," he added.

Goa will go to polls on February 4. Results will be declared on March 11.
