Lucknow: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today clarified that he is not the BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Assembly in the state.
Talking to reporters here, Singh said that all such reports circulating in media are "fictitious".
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister also said that he would extend "his full support" to whoever was named the chief ministerial candidate in assembly elections due next year.
He also said he was confident the BJP would win the elections and form a government in the state.
The minister inaugurated a free WiFi service and other passenger amenities at the Charbagh railway station.
It should be recalled that Rajnath Singh’s name was being circulated in media as the likely face of the BJP for the upcoming UP Assembly elections.
Names of other BJP leaders like Varun Gandhi, Yogi Adityanath and K P Maurya are also being speculated for the party’s face in 2017 Assembly elections.
