Haryana minister Anil Vij, known for often making headlines for all the wrong reasons, has created yet another controversy by referring to media persons are “stinking dogs”.
“Some stinking dogs are writing again and again that we forgot to buy tickets for Rio which is incorrect. We all had the tickets. We reached Olympic village the same day with players in their buses after the Independence day celebrations at Rio,” Anil Vij tweeted on Friday.
Vij also pointed out that his was not the first delegation that visited international games.
“Everytime delegations have been going. Ours was the smallest (sic),” he added.
Vij had made offensive remarks against opposition leaders from Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Congress in Haryana Assembly during Monsoon session. He had used a Punjabi idiom that was strongly objected to by the opposition leaders. The word was later expunged from the proceedings of the Assembly.
His recent decision to grant Rs 50 lakh from his discretionary fund to religious sect Dera Sacha Sauda headed by Baba Ram Rahim for promoting sports had also come under severe criticism.
