The main panel discussion before an audience will be held at India Gate and will be telecast live across the country on Doordarshan. Short documentaries will also be beamed at the panel discussion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the event.

The government is also in touch with other Bollywood stars and TV personalities for participation in this event.

“Big B is most likely to attend. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the events. Select ministers will be present to market the schemes that benefitted the people,” a source told Hindustan Times.

Success stories highlighting common man’s understanding and gains from the government’s flagship programmes from Jan Dhan, Swachh Bharat, Digital India, LPG Subsidy, Direct Benefit Transfer, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, One Rank One Pension and Rural Electrification will be telecast. Focus will remain on promoting schemes such as ‘Give It Up’- voluntary surrendering of LPG subsidy among others

Narendra Modi, who took oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India in 2014 on May 26, will address a mega rally in Saharanpur on the day. Using the anniversary celebrations as an opportunity to reach out to the people, the government has decided to hold 15-day long ‘Vikas Parva’ across the country. Several Union Ministers, senior party leaders will hold rallies and press conferences in different parts of the country highlighting government’s achievements.

To oversee the second anniversary celebrations, the Prime Minsiter has set up a Group of Ministers (GoM) comprising Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Power Minister Piyush Goel, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Minister in the PMO Jitendera Singh.

During 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP got more seats than it had in the last two elections combined. The saffron party won 282 seats, the highest number of seats bagged by a single party in last three decades in the Lower House of the Parliament.
