The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police today arrested two more aides of tainted Samajwadi Party leader Gayatri Prajapati – who is absconding in the Chitrakoot rape case.

The arrested persons, according to police, have been identified as Ashish Shukla and Ashok Tiwari. Police said that the two were taken into custody while they were trying to escape.

They were arrested from Jewar toll plaza on the Yamuna Expressway, police said.

“UP police’s Special Task Force arrested two pore persons in connection with Gayatri Prajapati,” ADG Daljit Chaudhary said.

The development comes a day after police arrested Prajapati's gunner Chandrapal Singh.

Police said that they are interrogating Chandrapal and trying to extract information and whereabouts about Minister and others. Chandrapal will be produced before court today.

ADG (Law and Order) Daljit Chaudhary had yesterday said that efforts have been intensified to track down the Minister against whom a non-bailable warrant has been issued.

The last time Prajapati was seen in public was on February 27. He is accused of raping a woman and molesting her minor daughter in 2014.
