Jailed AIADMK leader VK Sasikala has joined the ranks of ‘ordinary’ prisoners at Bengaluru’s  Parappana Agrahara Jail.

According to a report in Times of India, Sasikala was allowed to meet just three visitors in last two weeks.

All the three visitors, the report said, had come here from the leader’s home state of Tamil Nadu.

The report, while citing an RTI reply, claimed that 19 people, other than Sasikala's advocates, were allowed to visit the troubled leader, who is serving four-year term in a DA case.

“Among the three visitors in the recent past, one was a doctor from Chennai who is also a close relative of Sasikala,” the report said.

“Her sister-in-law and fellow convict in the illegal assets case, J Ilavarasi, has health problems and is in the jail hospital most of the time. Ilavarasi is being treated for respiratory problems. So Sasikala is left alone in the cell,” it added.

When the jail officials were asked about details of visitors, they refused to share the data saying ‘Sasikala was not getting VIP treatment here’.

They even said that number of visitors will be minimised in coming days.

Further, the TOI report said that Sasikala most of the time glued to the TV.
