New Delhi: A day after the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed an FIR against him and former CM Sheila Dikshit in connection with the tanker scam, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today launched a blistering attack on PM Narendra Modi saying “it's clear that the fight is between you (PM Modi) and me”.
Addressing the media here, the CM said, “Yesterday, on PM Modi's command an FIR has been registered against me. They got a CBI raid against me, which yielded absolutely nothing. The court also reprimanded the CBI raid. By conducting raid against me and targeting me, it's clear that the fight is between you (PM Modi) and me.”
He said that the cases or raids against him were deliberate and that he ‘will not break or bend’.
“I am not Sonia or Rahul Gandhi who will bend, break or be scared. I am not Robert Vadra whom you scan strike a deal with. I will die but never accept corruption,” he said.
Kejriwal then went on to invoke action, or the lack thereof, against the Gandhis, reiterating that he was being selectively targeted by the ruling dispensation at the Centre.
“No CBI raid was conducted against Robert Vadra, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. No FIR was registered against them,” he added.
The CM further said that he is the “only one standing against the wrongdoings of PM Modi like a wall”.
“I will keep raising my voice against everything that is wrong. I won't be bent or broken. Whenever in this country a dalit is oppressed, a Rohit Vemula commits suicide, you will find me standing with them. Whenever you (PM Modi) will try and save a Vasundhara Raje in the Lalit Modi controversy, I will raise my voice against it. If you try to save Anandi Ben in land scam, you will find me raising a voice against it,” he said.
Yesterday, the ACB had registered an FIR against both former and incumbent CMs of Delhi in connection with the 400-crore water tanker scam of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). The ACB stated that it would very soon question all accused, including Kejriwal and his predecessor Sheila Dikshit.
While the case against Dikshit has been filed over a complaint by Kapil Mishra, a minister in the Delhi government, Kejriwal has been implicated for sitting on the file of the case for months together. The complaint against Kejriwal was filed by Delhi MLA Vijender Gupta.
