The Tuticorin police today lodged an FIR against expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa, her husband, Lingesvara Thilakan and son Pradeep Raja for harassing maid servants.
The move comes after Sasikala’s maid sisters filed a sexual harassment complaint against Sasikala and her family including her mother.
Earlier on Monday, the Madras High Court had rejected an anticipatory bail plea by the lawmaker’s husband and son.
The two sisters who worked in household of the Rajya Sabha MP, have lodged a complaint alleging that they were harassed by the employer and family members.
The complainants also claimed that Thilakan and Raja had sexually harassed them while they were working at Sasikala’s Chennai residence. One of the sisters alleged that she was beaten up by the MP when she tried to escape from the household.
AIADMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had expelled Sasikala from the party on August 1, two days after she slapped DMK MP Tiruchi Siva at the Delhi airport, triggering a controversy and delaying a flight.
