Bharatiya Janata Party MP Udit Raj, on Wednesday, joined the Congress party in presence of Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
On Tuesday, he was denied the ticket by the saffron party. In his place, the ticket was given to singer Hans Raj Hans from North West Delhi constituency.
Upset over refusal of ticket for the Lok Sabha polls, Udit Raj on Tuesday said the party might have decided to drop him for protesting against the apex court's order that nullified the stringent provisions of the Dalit protection law.
On Tuesday, Udit Raj tweeted, "I still hopeful that I will file nomination from my constituency and BJP where I have worked hard and proved my metal. I hope I will not be forced to leave BJP by BJP itself."
