Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut while commenting about Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during elections said, “We are such people who don’t care about the law.”
“We are such people who don’t care about the law. We will also take care of the code of conduct. If we don’t say what we have in heart, then it will make us uneasy. (Hum aise log hain, bhaad mein gaya kanoon, achar sanhita bhi hum dekh lenge. Jo baat hamare mann mein hai wo agar hum mann se bahar nahi nikalein to ghutan si hoti hai")” ANI quoted Shiv Sena leader as saying on Sunday.
Sanjay Raut’s comments have come at a time when MCC is in force due to the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
Shiv Sena is an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra.
The general elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. The counting of votes will be conducted on 23 May, and on the same day the results will be declared.
Legislative Assembly elections in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will be held simultaneously with the general election.
