All India Majlis-eIttehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) presidents Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his `open arms' welcome to visiting UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan who was chief guest at this year’s Republic Day parade.

Taking a dig at PM Modi for his gesture towards UAE Crown Prince, Owaisi wondered why the PM does not show same warmth to `dhadiwalas' in India.

"We respect our guests and the Prince definitely should have been welcomed befittingly. But it looked like Modi had forgotten to do his yoga in the morning. So when the prince arrived in the evening, by his gestures, it looked like he was doing yoga with his open arms. If Modi has so much love for a 'dhadiwala' from abroad, why does he not show the same love to `dhadiwalas' in India?" Owaisi said while addressing a public rally in Aligarh on Wednesday evening.

Owaisi avoided using the word ‘Muslims’ as it would have violated the Supreme Court’s orders barring political parties from seeking votes in the name of religion.

Referring to the ongoing feud in Samajwadi Party between Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh, Owaisi termed the father-son duo as ‘drama company’.

The `bade miyan and chote miyan' are taking people for a ride by saying there is development in Uttar Pradesh. It is only the family which has benefitted, so far, not the common man," Owaisi said.
