Prime Minister Narendra Modi today praised Indian Air Force personnel and their families for protecting the nations’ skies on the occasion of 84th anniversary of IAF.
“Saluting all air warriors & their families on Air Force Day. Thank you for protecting our skies. Your courage makes India proud,” PM Modi tweeted.
President Pranab Mukherjee has also greeted the Indian Air Force on its 84th anniversary and said in a message that the nation is proud of the capability and competency of the IAF as over the last eight decades, it has emerged as an immensely professional and combat-ready force.
The President further said that the IAF has achieved distinction in defending India’s skies and delivering vital humanitarian aid and disaster relief.
He also expressed confidence that the ongoing process of modernisation will transform the Air Force into an even more potent and strategic force that can take on all future challenges.
Meanwhile, celebrations began today at the Hindon air base in Ghaziabad with a large parade and an air display.
The flypast included vintage aircrafts, modern transport aircrafts as well as frontline fighter aircrafts.
For the first time, LCA Tejas also participated in celebration of IAF anniversary. In addition to LCA Tejas, Su-30MKI, Mirage 2000 and Jaguar fighter aircrafts also participated in the air show.
