After resignation of M Venkaiah Naidu from union cabinet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today gave the additional charge of Information and Broadcasting ministry to Smriti Irani.
M Venkaiah Naidu, who has been picked as NDA’s vice-presidential candidate was handling both I&B ministry as well as Urban Development Ministry in the Narendra Modi cabinet.
The Prime Minister has given the additional charge of the Urban Development Ministry to Narendra Singh Tomar.
"M. Venkaiah Naidu has resigned from his ministerial responsibilities. The additional charge of the Ministry of I&B has been given to Smriti Irani," PM Modi tweeted.
"Additional charge of Moud_India (Ministry of Urban Development) has been given to Tomar," he added.
Irani already heads the Textile Ministry, while Tomar is in charge of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in the Modi cabinet.
