The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today filed its investigation report on Congress leader Jagdish Tytler’s involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Jagdish Tytler was earlier given a clean chit by the CBI in this case.
The CBI submitted its report to link magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh as the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shivali Sharma was on leave today.
Link magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh fixed September 28 as the next date of hearing in this case.
On December 4, 2015, the court had ordered the CBI to further investigate the involvement of Jagdish Tytler in 1984 anti-Sikh riots in view of arms dealer Abhishek Verma's statement that gave hints of Tytler influencing a witness in this case.
Arms dealer Abhishek Verma had told the CBI that the Congress leader had tried to influence one of the witnesses by giving him money and promising to send his son abroad.
The court had asked CBI to investigate if Verma’s statement was authentic.
