Ravindra Jadeja was the best bowler for India with figures of 3/28 in 10 overs including two maidens. Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav also picked up two scalps as all of India's six bowlers were amongst wickets.

The chase started on a tough note for India as Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer all three bagged a duck to leave India reeling at 2-3. While Starc sent back Ishan Kishan, Rohit and Iyer were dismissed by Josh Hazlewood.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul then joined hands to build a partnership. After spending some time in the middle, they played their shots and ended up adding 165 runs for the fourth wicket. Both of them scored half-centuries too.

KL Rahul batted till the end and remained unbeaten on 97 as India reached home in the 42nd over of the innings. India won by six wickets to get their World Cup campaign up and running.
