Ravi Ashwin was the wrecker-in-chief again picking up three wickets in the second innings as he dismissed the likes of Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope and Joe Root to leave England reeling. However, the off-spinner couldn't complete the 500-wicket mark in his career as he was stranded at 499 scalps at the end of the second Test. Nevertheless, it was a fine effort from Ashwin yet again in this Test.

England were 106 runs within the target and one has to say, Ben Stokes' dismissal proved very costly for them. If he had stuck around in the middle for a little more time with Ben Foakes, the match could've gone closer. But his poor running and Shreyas Iyer's excellent direct hit certainly killed the game for England.
