    Argentine forward Lionel Messi has made 19 appearances in the FIFA World Cup spread across four editions and scored six times for the Albicelestes. He also recorded five assists in the world’s biggest football tournament. Lionel Messi has scored all his World Cup goals in the group stage matches, starting at the 2006 edition. He scored his first goal against Serbia and Montenegro in his second-ever appearance at the World Cup.

    With 7 goals to his name in FIFA World Cups, he is the second-highest scorer amongst active players behind Germany's Thomas Mueller (10). Should he score at least once, in Qatar, Ronaldo will be the first male footballer to score in five different World Cup editions.

    England striker Harry Kane was awarded the Golden Boot for most goals scored in the 2018 World Cup. Kane, 28, took home the honors after netting six goals in the tournament. The striker tied fellow Englishman Gary Lineker's 1986 record, becoming only the second Three Lions player to lead a World Cup in scoring.

His overall record during the huge event is actually very impressive given he’s only had two tries with on injury, however this is no surprise for a player of his calibre.     Mbappe scored four goals in the 2018 World Cup as France went on to victory. He’s a risky pick along with his other teammates. France has so many goal-scoring threats that it’s easy to see goals spread between Mbappe, Karim Benzema, Antoine Griezmann and others.
