Ronaldo scored 118 goals for Manchester United, not to mention a hair-raising screamer against Porto for the Champions League, getting possession of the ball 40 yards out just to fire a shot into the top corner of the goal. Ronaldo’s effort won him the inaugural Fifa Puskas award for the goal of the year.

Ronaldo claimed the Ballon d’Or grant as the best player on the planet in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. The last came after an outstanding 2016-2017 season wherein he led Real Madrid to the La Liga title and victory in the Champions League final, where he scored twice in a 4-1 triumph over Juventus.

Ronaldo at long last tasted success on the global stage with Portugal, winning the 2016 European Championship with a triumph over France in the final in Paris. It was a bittersweet moment for the captain, who had been carried off after being injured after only 25 minutes of gameplay, though he still came back on to lift the trophy with pride.
