4 - Virat Kohli: Indian legend Kohli has been one of the finest captains in the format. Kohli led India to 40 wins in 68 Test matches. He had 17 losses as skipper with 11 drawn matches.

3 - Steve Waugh: The former Australian skipper has also been a legendary captain. He led Australia in 57 Test matches and won 41 of them. He had only 9 losses as skipper with 7 drawn games.

2 - Ricky Ponting: Former Australia captain Ponting also had a decorated career. He was the captain of the Australian team from 2004 onwards and helped them win 48 Tests in 77 matches he led till 2010.

1 - Graeme Smith: South Africa's Smith was made the Test captain at a very young age. He led South Africa in 109 Tests and helped them win 53 of them. He suffered 29 losses in games he led and had 27 drawn ones.
