Muzaffarnagar riot victims suffering in relief camps

After the violent riots in Muzaffarnagar in 2013, thousands of Muslims had to take shelter in makeshift relief camps to save their lives. Now they are suffering due to negligence on part of politicians and state administration.

Several thousands people lost their homes and belongings and became homeless after the riots.

Uttar Pradesh government offered help much later to those who needed it much before. It organized a relief camp for them which proved to be a complete failure in providing necessary help to the riot victims.

The pictures are portraying there is no adequate food, proper sanitation, clean drinking water and clean living conditions in this area.

Camp is set in the open area of Shamli, UP. People are unable to protect themselves from this freezing cold. In fact two infants and many young children died due to extremely low temperature and inadequate material for them to protest them from cold.

Over 100 families from the camp are yet to receive any monetary benefit especially those from villages like Kharad and Fugana as these villages were not listed as maximum affected.
