The special guests, Prince William and Kate Middleton began their weeklong visit to India and Bhutan by laying a wreath at a memorial at Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Palace hotel. The duo paid homage to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks here.

Prince William and his Princess offered flowers during their visit at the 900-year-old Banganga Tank at the Malabar Hill, constructed in 1127 by the Silhara dynasty rulers of the then Thane kingdom.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a charity program at Oval Maidan in Mumbai. They were greeted by women of the local community and volunteers of the Smile Foundation with garlands and flowers, after which the couple showered petals in the holy reservoir.

Sachin Tendulkar was overjoyed on meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. He said, "It was a fantastic experience to meet the Duke and the Duchess and they are a remarkable couple. They made us feel so comfortable and they are really humble, very simple and the noble causes that they are supporting all over the world shows what a kind heart they have."
