    India is a land of many unique places. One of these places is the world's first vegetarian city. The city of Palitana, which is about 55 km away from Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, is completely vegetarian.

    At this place, there is a unique mountain which is home to more than 900 temples. It is called Shatrunjaya. To reach the temple level, one has to climb about 3950 steps.

    The city of Palitana is considered the holiest place in Jainism. A large number of followers of Jainism live here, that's why they requested the government to stop the sale of non-vegetarian food and stop killing animals at this place. The government accepted their demand in the year 2014 and completely banned animal killing in this city.
