Vasundhara Raje, who is the current Chief Minister of Rajasthan, is contesting as a BJP candidate from Jhalrapatan seat in Rajasthan assembly elections 2018. She also served as the CM of the state from 2003 to 2008, and is also the first female chief minister in Rajasthan. Raje has been elected thrice from the Jhalrapatan seat. She has served as an MP six times, and was elected as an MLA four times.

Sachin Pilot, who is the son of Congress leader Rajesh Pilot, is contesting from Tonk as a Congress candidate. He was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha from the Dausa parliamentary constituency of Rajasthan in 2004. Often credited for working at the grassroot level, Pilot helped Congress revive the future of the state.

Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, who is also Congress' national general secretary (organisations and training), is contesting the assembly elections from Sardarpura. Gehlot is a silent worker but popular among the public. Considered close to Rahul Gandhi, Gehlot strengthened his position before the party chief while managing the campaign strategy in Gujarat. From 1998 to 2003 and from 2008 to 2013, Gehlot held the post of CM twice.

Manvendra Singh, who is the son of BJP leader Jaswant Singh, is contesting as a Congress candidate from Jhalrapatan seat in the home turf of Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje. He had won as a BJP candidate from the Sheo constituency of Barmer district in the 2013 state Assembly polls.

Yunus Khan, who is contesting from Tonk, is the only Muslim face in the list of 200 candidates fielded by BJP. He lost in 2008 but won again in 2013 and held the portfolios of transport and minister in Raje government.
