When Bollywood and South cinema films are released simultaneously on the big screen, the excitement increases among the audience. Recently Salman Khan's Sikander has been released. At the same time, three days ago Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan has also hit the theatres. The clash of big films on the screen is not a new thing. L2: Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran was released three days ago. While the film registers a slow growth at the box office, it is also clashing with Salman Khan's Sikandar as the film has finally hit theatres today. However, it's too soon to compare these films' box office collections but seeing the first-day collection of Sikandar, it's safe to say that Bollywood is left behind Tollywood in this clash.

The clash of Thangalaan and Stree 2 was also in the news in 2024. Chiyaan Vikram's period thriller was released on August 15. It was based on the story of Kolar Gold Fields. Its cinematography and story garnered a lot of accolades. On the other hand, Stree 2 was also released on the same day. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor were seen in this film. This horror-comedy film performed brilliantly at the box office and Bollywood took over South in this clash.

Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and Akshay Kumar's Sarfira clashed in 2024. Kamal Haasan's pan-India film, directed by Shankar was released on 12 July. In this film, Haasan was seen fighting against corruption. On the other hand, Sarfira was also released on the same day. However, both films could not succeed at the box office. Akshay's film was the Hindi remake of the National Award-winning film Soorarai Pottru. The original has Suriya in the lead role.

The clash of Rajinikanth's Jailer and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 made a lot of headlines. Both films were released in 2023 with a gap of one day. While Jailer was released on August 10, in which Rajinikanth's style and action made the fans crazy, on the other hand, Gadar 2 was released on August 11. On the other hand, Zero was released on the same day, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, but the film did not live up to expectations.
