New Delhi: India’s much-awaited hatchback Tata ‘Tiago’ was today launched in Mumbai in a price range starting Rs 3.2 lakh and extending up to Rs 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). Besides all other things, this is Tata Motors’ first foray into the hatchback segment which will pit it against the likes of Maruti, Hyundai, Volkswagen etc. The newly appointed MD of Tata Motor Guenter Butschek said, "The car has outstanding handling experience. For me it is a game changing product. We have positioned the car in the medium hatchback space but are targeting higher end customers." The car is available in 5 variants: XB, XE, XM, XT, and XZ. Design: Tata Diago follows a concept called IMPACT design philosophy following which Tiago sports a sleek and curvy design at its front. The new design will also be included in the upcoming vehicles of Tata including Kite 5 sedan and Nexon sub-compact SUV.
