Assam: Fire breaks out in coaches of Gandhi Dham Express in Bongaigaon | VIDEO

A massive fire has been reported in some coaches of the Gandhi Dham Express while it was passing from Bongaigaon in Assam.

A fire broke out in some of the coaches of Gandhi Dham Express on Wednesday in Assam's Bongaigaon. The incident triggered chaos among the passengers and nearby people as a thick cloud of smoke was spotted. The fire erupted due to a mechanical fault. So far no casualties have been reported.

Similar incident on Taj Express

Earlier on June 3, a major incident of fire was reported in a coach of the 2280 Taj Express train. Taj Express was en route from Okhla to the Tughlakabad block section when the incident occurred. Upon receiving the information about the fire, precautionary measures were taken, and the other compartments of the train were separated from the luggage compartment. The District Magistrate of Delhi and other officials have reached the scene. "We received a call at 4.24 pm regarding the fire in four coaches of the Taj Express train. Eight fire tenders were pressed into service and efforts to douse the blaze are underway," a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said. No reports of any casualties have been received so far, the official said June 3. Later the fire was brought under control.
