New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been described as a ‘juggernaut of political social media' by New York Times, a leading daily of the US.
Modi who lands in US on his five – day tour, has got a high voltage schedule under which he is supposed to grab enormous attention in global media.
An article entitled – ‘Narendra Modi: The Social Media Politician' reads as follows: “American politicians seeking to do well on social media may want to take note: one of the world's best will be in New York this weekend”. It goes on to shower praise over Modi's strategy to use social platforms to bypass traditional media outlets and reach supporters directly.
Saturday Modi is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly in New York. The following day he is expected to draw perhaps the largest crowd ever by a foreign leader on US soil when he takes the stage at New York's Madison Square Garden for an audience expected to total more than 18,000 people.
Thousands more are expected to pack New York's Times Square to watch his address in Hindi on big screens.
The Prime Minister will meet President Obama on Monday at the White House; his talks with US officials will continue till Tuesday.
