Kabul: At least two children were killed and three others were injured in a bomb blast in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province on Wednesday, a local official said.
"A mine planted by militants under a bridge in Imam Sahib district around 10.00 a.m. (local time) killed two children and injured three others," Xinhua quoted the district governor Imamudin Qurishi as saying.
He also blamed the attack on the enemies of peace, a reference to the Taliban militants.
The group, which is fighting the government and is active in parts of Imam district and the neighbouring Dasht-e-Archi district, was yet to comment.
