Three bomb blasts have hit an island on Lake Chad, Africa, leaving 27 people dead and 80 injured, security agencies said.
The blasts occurred on the island of Koulfoua on the Chadian side of the lake. According to security agencies, three suicide attackers hit three spots at a weekly market on the island.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts so far. However, the region has been under a state of emergency since November this year following multiple attacks by the militant group Boko Haram.
Chad has been instrumental in helping Nigeria recliam its areas seized by Boko Haram in the north of the country.
