2. Tanganyika Lake
Tanganyika is the deepest freshwater lake in Africa and the second deepest in the world with a maximum depth of 4,823 feet. It is divided between Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (45%), Tanzania (41%) and Zambia.
