Davos, Switzerland, Jan 27: Three women from a Ukranian feminist group on Saturday ripped off their shirts and tried to force their way into the premises of the World Economic Forum, angry over sexism and male domination of the world economy.
The women, with their chests were painted with "SOS Davos," scaled a fence and set off pink flares. "Poor for being womem" was painted on their back.
The police immediately pounced on them and took them away before they could proceed further.
Police sources later told PTI that the detained women have been released.
The women, from Ukrainian feminist activist group Femen, said they wanted to highlight the poverty of women across the world.
Femen had did a similar stunt last year demanding more female representatives at the World Economic Forum and on political bodies worldwide.
Femen is reported to stage such protests over women's rights and covers a range of issues from campaigning against sex tourism in Ukraine to the treatment of women in parts of the Middle East.
