Thousands come out in Ireland to protest death of pregnant Indian woman

Dublin, Nov 16: Thousands of protesters came out on Wednesday outside Ireland's parliament  to demand easing of tough abortion rules after  pregnant Indian woman Savita  died after being repeatedly denied abortion in an Irish hospital.

After several challenges, the European Court of Human Rights ruled in 2010 that Ireland must clarify its position.

Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny offered sympathy to Savita's  family, but said he could not comment further until an investigation into the death.
