Ahmedabad: The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (MSA) has apprehended as many as 38 Indian fishermen and seized seven of their boats near international boundary off Jakhau coast in Kutch, an office-bearer of National Fish Workers' Forum said on wednesday.

“Pakistani agency has apprehended 38 fishermen and seized seven of their boats yesterday from near the international boundary where they were fishing,” said Manish Lodhari, General Secretary of the organisation, who is based in Porbandar.

Out of seven boats, five belonged to Porbandar while two headed into the sea from Okha harbour, he said.  “We have learnt that Pakistani agency abducted them near Jakhau late last evening and took them to Karachi port,” said Lodhari.

Earlier on January 4, MSA had captured 12 Indian fishermen and seized two of their boats near International Maritime Boundary off Gujarat coast.
