Rattled by a spate of terrorist attacks on army officers in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Interior Minister Reman Malik on Saturday appealed to the people to stop pillion riding on two-wheelers for the next three months or face arrest.
Speaking to media in Islamabad, Malik said he had suspended an SHO of the area where a firing incident took place and issued directives to the IG Police concerned that if anybody was arrested for pillion riding, the SHO concerned would be arrested, as he was responsible for security.
"I request the people to avoid pillion riding for the next three months, as acts of terrorism in Islamabad are being carried out by motorcyclists”, Malik said.
