He unveiled an executive order to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 (£6.10) an hour for new federal contract workers.
During his annual State of the Union address,Obama said “Let's make this a year of action,”.
“America does not stand still - and neither will I, he said, adding, “So wherever and whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families.”
