Kathmandu: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed my son the 'right way in his life', said an emotional Khagisara Saru Magar following a family reunion that took place after 15 years.
Khagisara Saru Magar on Sunday met her son Jeet Bahadur Magar, who was being looked after by Modi.
The meeting took place on the first day of Modi's two-day visit to Nepal that ends on Monday.
Media reported that the very first task Modi did in Nepal was to hand over Jeet Bahadur Saru Magar to his family members.
Khagisara said that Modi has given new life to her son.
“I gave birth and brought him up but you showed him the right way in his life, so I want you to take care of him and show him the way forward," an emotional Khagisara told Modi.
During the family reunion, Modi asked Jeet what his wish was. Jeet promptly replied that he would complete his higher studies and then do what "bade bhaiya" (Modi) suggests.
Jeet said he will be with his family at Nawalparasi district for a week and then return to Ahmedabad where he is pursuing a BBA degree.
