Mohammed was captured by CIA ,ISI forces at Rawalpindi and was handed over to U.S. CIA custody in 2003.
He was transferred to Guantanamo Bay in 2006. He is one of 16 high-value detainees. As of January 2010, the Guantánamo Review Task Force had recommended him for prosecution.
As of March 20, 2014, he has been held at Guantánamo for seven years six months. He has been charged with war crimes.
