Know about a miracle baby, born after mother shot in stomach

New Delhi: Hanna Campbell, British army corporal was the luckiest person on earth when she gave birth to a baby girl after being shot in stomach, losing her leg and blinded in a war in Iraq.Campbell, was 29 when she almost escaped from death in on sentry duty in Basra, Iraq.An insurgents' mortar hit the building she was guarding.The incident left her lose a limb, partially blinded in one eye as reported by dailymail. She was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder due to the incident.That broke her five year marriage with Jamie whom she had married in 2004 when they met at work.Hannah was born in the village of Kirksanton, Cumbria.She was 17 when she joined the British Army.Daughter of teacher Ann, 53, and Ron, 59, a mechanical engineer she signed up to do a nursing degree. She was then transferred into the Adjutant General's Corps, an administrative support division that attaches itself to other regiments.There she met her first husband, Jamie, and got married in 2004. She had a daughter Milly with her husband Jamie a year later.Hannah got a chance to go to Iraq with the ‘The Royal Artillery.'When she went to Iraq, she faced the ground reality; her camp was attacked up to eight times a day.While one day the compound she was guarding was struck by a mortar bomb. The building was flattened and she was beneath it.Her colleague Karl immediately went to rescue her and started lifting the rubble.US Special Forces took two and a half hours to dig her out.Two of the Americans pulled Karl to the ground to give him emergency medical aid as he had suffered horrific shrapnel injuries to both legs and was losing a lot of blood.The others continued digging to free Hannah.Drenched with her own blood, Hannah was taken to the hospital where she realized that she had lost a limb and became partially blinded. She was left with 20 per cent vision in her left eye by the metal pole which had pierced her face and her lower left leg and foot were crushed.She also faced 19 operations to try to rebuild her foot.At Selly Oak, doctors discovered the damage to her womb, clearly caused by a bullet, though Hannah couldn't remember being shot. She then split with her husband following tensions caused due to her PTSD.Nonetheless, she is a woman of courage and wanted to recover soon.Six weeks after her surgery she was fitted with her first artificial limb.She was then able to freely walk again with her nine year old daughter Milly.Life went back to normal when she found the new love of her life, Anthony McMorrow, 32, on a dating website. They got married and Hannah became pregnant again though she did not expect it.Hannah remembered that she was told by doctors that she could not conceive again due to her damaged womb because of the incident.Four weeks later, on March 31, 2014 Hannah gave birth to her daughter at Northampton General Hospital with no complications.That moment gave a new beginning to her life and the family celebrated it happily.
