New Delhi: Rania Al Abdullah, Queen Consort of Jordan's King Abdullah II is famous not only for her beauty and impeccable style but also for her involvement in humanitarian work in the field of education, health and community empowerment.She was ranked 76th in a 2009 list of the 100 most influential women in the world. Let us explore the fairy tale story of this pretty queen: 1. A commoner, she was born in Kuwait to Palestinian parents from Tulkarm. Her father was a physician. 2. She holds a degree in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo. She had worked briefly in Citibank then in Apple Inc. 3. In 1993, she met her partner, King Abdullah at a dinner party. The party was hosted by the king's sister in which Rania had gone with a colleague. 4. Straight from a fairy tale, commoner meets her charming prince; it was ‘love at first sight' situation for them. 5. They both fell in love instantly and deeply. 6. Rania and Prince Abdullah were engaged just two months after their meeting. Then, in June 1993, less than six months after their first encounter, the couple married in a lavish ceremony. 7. The couple has four children, Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem. 8. Her beauty and glamorous image made her an international icon.
