Daniel Pearl killer Omar Saeed Sheikh attempts suicide in Pak jail

Karachi: Omar Saeed Sheikh, the terrorist who was freed by India in exchange for hostages during the Kandahar hijack in 2000, tried to hang himself inside his cell in the Hyderabad central jail in Sindh

Omar Saeed Sheikh's  lawyer are waiting for the court to hear his appeal against the death sentence on the plea that it was self-proclaimed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, who had admitted to killing Daniel Pearl.

Omar Saeed Sheikh, Maulana Masood Azhar and Mushtag Ahmed Zargar, all terrorists, were freed by India on January 1, 2000 during the Kandahar hijack in exchange for hostages on board the hijacked Indian Airlines plane.
