Srinagar: Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit on Friday criticised Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for promising action against the group during his meeting with US President Barack Obama.
"Prime Minister Sharif's promise of taking action aginst the group was aimed at pleasing New Delhi," its spokesman Abdullah Gaznavi said in an e-mail statement.
He said Sharif's statement has "hurt the sentiments of Kashmiri Muslims" and it will have a bearing in the state.
"His (Sharif's) action cannot be termed as right and beneficial for the freedom struggle of Kashmiris," he said.
Sharif promised action against all terrorist networks, including Lashkar-e-Toiba, in a joint statement issued after his talks with Obama yesterday.
