New Delhi: This island is a 430,000-square-metre (110-acre) island off the coast of the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
Its actual name is Ilha de Queimada Grande but it is nicknamed as Snake Island.
It is home to one of the most venomous snakes in the world.
It is located almost 93 miles away from São Paulo downtown. The most amazing fact regarding this place is that there are between one and five snakes per square meter.
These snakes are so dangerous that the Brazilian Navy has forbidden anyone from going to the island, with the exception of some scientific maniacs.
The snakes on Queimada Grande are a unique species of pit viper, the Golden Lancehead. The Lancehead is responsible for 90% of Brazilian snakebite-related fatalities.
